What a rollercoaster. 5 GB of footage, 2 Hours, 56 Minutes, of one of the best visual novels i've EVER read! I loved the story! Aran seems like he would have been a cool guy, and caleb also seemed kinda cool before he became involved with projectMP (thats what the elevator code translates to btw, i translated it to projectmp. thank god i wrote it down or i would never have known what to call it.) Despite playing for nearly 3 hours, i never actually was able to pronounce the project name. but despite that i LOVED it. I'll edit this comment with my full playthrough once i have it uploaded on youtube. overall very good game im excited to play/read the sequel (is a visual novel considered a game? i've never considered them one but it just kinda went into my mind while playing/reading/whatever this VN) when i eventually have processed this games stuff. I have got to say though you are my favourite VN creator and im excited to see what you have in the works for Skin - Deep Ligature. Thank you for this wonderful game!

Edit: Just finished the sequel - 6 GB and 3:11:24 for time spent on it with a total of 11 GB and 6 hours 7 minutes and 30 seconds on these 2 games alone. Thank you for making these wonderful VN's. Sylvan

This game literally changed my life, thank you.

I found this while doom scrolling for completed visual novels and I’m honestly so glad I decided to play it. The story is beautifully written—even though it deals with a sensitive topic, it’s handled with so much care and respect. It never felt inappropriate or invalidating, just really honest and real.

The characters are amazing. I’ve met someone like Aran in real life, and seeing how realistically they were written hit me hard. The emotional moments got to me, and I seriously wish there was a sequel or extra content with Aran and Caleb just being domestic and happy.

I really appreciate the clear trigger warnings too. And the music? So good. The music box scene in one of the endings nearly made me cry. The backgrounds were also super impactful too! Every time I saw Caleb’s grandparents’ house, I felt this mix of sadness and nostalgia.

Definitely checking out the dev’s other games. This one really stuck with me. Thank you for making something so special.

When i first saw this game i thought it would be a sweet romantic story with a sad back story but mann i can't believe I got to play such a MASTERPIECE! I cant even count how many times i got emotional and teared up while playing wttfm 😭🙏. This game is so good i don't understand how the heck this isnt all over the internet already (i wanna talk to someone abt this game so badly💔) i also love the creators note and gallery part. AAH theres just so much i love abt this game! Truly underrated. But i bet one of  syllphana's games will be hella popular. MARK MY WORDS 

And brooo i feel so bad for Aran 😭😭😭my guy went through soo muchh. The worst part is even after his death he couldn't get a break, got his head crushed, got stripped, AND got involved in an inhumane experiment. I love him smm he deserved moree 😭😭😭

I played this game a while back but I never finished writing my praise for it sooo here it goes! I first discovered your games with "Sweetest Valentine" back in  December 2022, and then I was hooked onto "For Amerta." So when I was occasionally checking your page and seeing that a new visual novel was in the works I was (naturally) excitedly counting down the days until it released. However I never sat down to play it until a couple months after WTTFM actually released (curse my busy schedule and professors). This game is amazing in all different kinds of aspects, its storytelling, characters, art, world-building, and the carefully picked out soundtrack. No joke I cry every single time I hear the music box, it just fits in so well and is both joyful but gut-wrenching to hear at the same time. Every single part of this game was just so carefully thought out and I could feel the amount of effort put into this. I was a bit wary seeing the trigger warning list, however there was so much thought and effort put into handling these subjects with the care that they needed, and in no way did any of it come off as mocking or inappropriate at any point during the game. Every single game of yours that you have written I always make up my own theories, and then I am blown away once I finish the game since the stuff you come up with is SO CREATIVE??!?! I was genuinely in awe with each ending and each plot-twist. Speaking of endings, the cg art in-between the game and at the endings of each route were absolutely wonderful to look at. Your style in general is just amazing and your coloring is so soft and like comforting, but when the scene is chilling it also comes across off as exactly that. I have been such a fan of your work and I just cannot put into words how amazing your work is, both in art and storytelling. I enjoyed every single moment of this and for the past 7 months I have found myself thinking about this book and just sobbing over the characters. I cannot CANNOT wait to see the stuff you will come up with in the future!!! 

I loved this game!! I was just scrolling through this website to find some Visual Novel games that spiked my interest, i came across a couple including this one and decided to try it out. 

I'm glad to say this is one of the most amazing games I've played! The plot twist in most of the endings was surprising and this game was just a fever dream.

The art style as well was something i adored- with the storyline/plot.

SPOILERS - 

THE FEELINGS I FELT WHEN CALEB INJECTED ARAN?? LIKE THE PLOTWIST WAS MINDBLOWING. (THERES EVEN MORE MINDBLOWING ONES!?)

And the choices we get- I REALLY HAVE TO THINK BEFORE CHOOSING. AND CALEB? THE ARTIFICAL MIND THING? THIS GAME JUST HAD MORE PLOT TWISTS.

This game has had be feeling something that cant be described in words and I'm glad i found this and i got to experience this wonderful game. Cant wait to see future projects!

i downloaded this game a few months ago and just got around to playing it. the art and storytelling seemed incredibly familiar, only to realise it was from the same dev as Sweetest Valentine and For Amerta. I thought the first game was good, then i thought nah the second game i played was a masterpiece - to the point that i even sat and explained the entire story with endings (with pics) to my friend who has never played VNs before and he was invested in it too. 

this game made me feel so many emotions, it is a masterpiece, and so are the rest of your games. i unfortunately, I played the good end (s) first, so playing the bad end(s) left me hollow inside, but the good endings hurt just as much as the bad ends. we all knew Caleb was sus as hell but i still ended up feeling sympathetic. he just needs help and someone who will support him through it all, ironic considering his line of work.  i ended up texting my friend (yes the same one) talking about how "normal end 1" was not even normal?? LIKE HELLO? NORMAL WHERE WHO HUH?? 😭 Caleb, Aran, Seven and Julia will forever remain in my heart. thank you for making games that leave such a huge impression that i can still recall what happened in them years down the line. i can't wait to play more of your games <3

This was the 2nd game I played that came from this dev (1st was Sweetest Valentine, after this game I played For Amerta then Rotten Angel) It's been a while since I've played this, so I forgot which ending I got first, but every single plotline left me wanting more. I really enjoyed everything about this game, from the aesthetic, to the music, to the story. Omfg the freaking story I love it so much!!!!

"I never wanted to experience it again."

"The dreary and quiet forest. The putrid, rusty scent. A mix of emotions so strong it makes you want to vomit."

"No matter how hard I try to forget, it always comes back to haunt me. Every time I see it, I keep questioning myself. What am I even doing? I have to remind myself not to waver. After all, I'm so close..."

"I truly never wanted to experience this again. But I guess.."

"This is simply my punishment, for everything that had happened."

The freaking writing. Oh my god. Those few lines and i was just HOOKED. The putrid, rusty scent?? Probably blood. A mix of emotions so strong it makes you want to vomit? Did someone die? I had so many questions, and the atmosphere and the music was so fitting. Whose perspective was I in? I eventually learned it was Caleb's perspective, given that Aran had fallen from a building. He had probably fallen and that must have caused the blood and the emotions, right??

BUT WHAT KIND OF BUILDING IS NEXT TO A DAMN FOREST?? Nah, something was definitely fishy about this. Especially since his injuries didn't line up with what supposedly caused them.

Kaveh--- I mean Caleb, was kinda sus from the start. I have a tendency to overthink things and read into them a lil too much, but he seemed a liiiitle too.. I dunno, not emotional? Sort of used to it? 

HM. HIS GRANDPARENTS LIVE NEAR THE FOREST. I WONDER..

"No!! Focus on the story and stop theorizing, you're not MatPat!!", I kept on repeating to myself in my head. But something was off, I could feel it!!!

Okay, but aside from all the weirdness at the start (which is explained later on in the story) I LOVED the flashbacks. The progression of their love story was so freaking perfect. I really got to get attached to the characters, including the cat. Especially the cat. I loved that cat. Caleb was a funny character. For a while, I forgot about all the suspicious stuff. I just enjoyed their story. It was sosososososo cute!! This game is written in such a way where you get to be attached to the characters and it pulls it off so well!! It made all the twists and turns extra extra cool. I loved the complexity of each character.. it was so interesting to see their thoughts and what exactly they had to go through. It made them so interesting left me wanting more. Just more. Infinitely more. I could write a whole essay just on Caleb and/or Aran/Roy/07 alone, but we'd be here forever so yeah.

We're gonna be here forever if I talk about the main plot, so I'll just go straight to the endings I loved the most.

C route -

The ending where Caleb accepts "Aran"'s request to.. yeah. No. This ending left me feeling really disgusted. I'm not saying it was a badly-written ending, but DAMN "Aran", did you really have to do that???? ):

Then, we have the ending where Caleb successfully creates a perfect copy of Aran in another person named Valentino. I have mixed feelings about this one. On one hand, Caleb's happy, but can we truly say that Valentino is?? At least Caleb kept his promise to Roy to bring back his daughter, but.. are they really gonna be truly happy together? Isn't this all just a lie?? Cause those aren't the real, same people. They're just clones. 

Last for the C route, we have Caleb committing suicide after Roy did. Afterwards, we get to see his afterlife, with Aran and Ro. This is my 2nd favorite ending in the entire game because at least Caleb and Aran and Ro can finally be together again. This ending made me cry. Full-on sobs. Tears. ARAN FREAKING FORGAVE CALEB FOR EVERYTHING AAAAAHHHHHHH!!! They were finally reunited and Ro was back and finally everything could be perfect and oh my god i love this ending so much aaahhhhhh!!! It's so sad how Caleb blames himself for Aran's suicide. In reality, you can't control another person's desicions. You can manipulate them, guide them, push them, but in the end, the choice is entirely theirs. It's never truly anyone's fault, suicide. If anything, you should blame the mental illness, so PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD CALEB, ARAN EVERYONE IN THIS GODDAMN STORY PLEASE GET THERAPY!!

S route -

I think the first ending I got is the happy ending we had with Julia and Roy? I was unsatisfied with this ending because although we were safe, there are still more victims of Project Metempsychosis, and that number will continue to grow, so I tried to aim for a different ending.

I chose the wrong option and ended up getting another brain surgery by Caleb. Thanks a lot, Caleb!! (Side note: the hands. how are they drawn so well. how.) The action scene was pretty cool, though. Damn can Roy pack a punch.

Finally, my favorite ending of them all. I freaking love this ending. 

"In fact, you look really good, 07. That's why I've been staring."

I facepalmed at that. Flirting, seriously?? Caleb is such a goofy character sometimes, I swear. Anyways.. yeah. Personally, this ending also kind of wants to make me cry. There's hope for a better tomorrow, a better future-- a future without Project Metempsychosis, something that the other endings lack. Although things won't be easy, they'll find a way through it together. 

I saw the author's note you put in the 'Extras' screen, and even if the end product isn't as good as you expected it to be, I, and a lot of other people, were really inspired by it and enjoyed it. I truly appreciate all the effort and time you put into this (balancing game development with an internship probably wasn't easy, I'd probably combust into flames lol.)

I absolutely love this game, I truly do. I'm so surprised that not more people have heard of this game, but I'm so glad you made this. Thank you for the amazing experience, and hopefully you take care of yourself as well!! I can't wait to see what you have in store for us next!!
