Hope you had a good spooky day. Today also happens to be Sweetest Valentine's birthday too, and I prepared absolutely nothing HAHA

Okay, I didn't really come entirely empty handed. Let me tell you about an alternate universe of SV that's been stuck in my mind lately, and that is this (heavy spoilers for the actual game down below):

Sweetest Valentine but the roles are reversed, so Yuzu Haru are the villains while Ichigo and Aimi are the randos getting roped into this whole mess. (Ignore that height difference, Haruto is supposedly taller than depicted, but I just don't want to obscure his face too much lol)

Honestly, Yuzu Haru as villains/yanderes would be pretty fucking terrifying. I'd imagine in this AU that Yuzuki would still be the popular good student in the school, but this time, it's actually a farce. He'd be a sadist who can only feel happy seeing people suffer or writhe in pain, otherwise, he doesn't really feel any emotion and is just damn good at faking it. Of course, he's the man behind the disappearances in this AU.

On the other hand, this AU's Haruto is almost everything the actual canon Haruto strives to become. A genius from the moment he was born with a strong moral compass. But the combination of these two things twisted his logic and common sense so hard that he doesn't think like an average person anymore. I'll explain this later down below.

Meanwhile, Ichigo and Aimi are just themselves... except Ichigo's whole "accidentally murdered his parents" thing never happened. Aimi is also a normal, sane girl here.

So Yuzuki have been kidnapping and murdering people just cause man's bored. Haruto caught on quick and called Yuzuki to the storage room to talk about it in private. Yuzuki was impressed that seemingly this bland looking student figured out, but he's gotta kill Haruto now that he knows, thinking that Haruto would report him. However, instead of calling the cops on Yuzuki, Haruto tried to blackmail Yuzuki. Basically, Haruto wanted to use Yuzuki's trigger happy killing tendencies as a tool to 'punish evil', because it's kind of a waste if he just used it to murder innocent people you know? Finding this and Haruto himself to be intriguing, Yuzuki accepted the deal. Yeah that whole interaction was pretty much the edgier version of the scene where Haruto found out Yuzuki's bad at sports LOL

Haruto would be the brains, he'd pick the victims and plan out the whole murder, while Yuzuki would be the executor of his plans. Eventually, some weird love blossomed between these two and they end up together. Now Yuzuki can officially be called a yandere by this point because he became obsessed with Haruto, because he just can't figure this guy out. Haruto didn't really reciprocate though rip. In Haruto's eyes, Yuzuki is just a crazy criminal scum that he used for his own ideals, and that's it. He's just going along with it, but he's absolutely planning to dispose of Yuzuki later and expose him to the police.

After two years have passed, Ichigo happened to see Yuzuki butchering someone. Yeah, he's taking the actual canon Haruto's role in this AU, because karma's a bitch. 

Past that point, idk, I haven't really thought of it LMAOO

Anyway, that was a weird way to celebrate this game's first anniversary. Sorry, I really got nothing else to offer lol! I just really like thinking of alternate universe stuff, and I thought I'll share a bit of that. I hope that's fun to read at least. Now, I should be properly thanking you all who supported Sweetest Valentine by playing, leaving a nice comment, rating, making playthroughs, even paying for the game! Thank you so much! Creating small games and visual novels have always been one of my dreams ever since I was just a pre-teen, and I'm still so baffled by all the attention this game has gotten! I sound like a broken record at this point, but really, I couldn't thank you all enough!

Also, just to make this dev log less useless, I'll show you another sketch of this thing I'm working on. If you've read my behind the scenes post for my other visual novel, For Amerta, then you're probably already aware that I'm planning to make another small game. Not sure when it's going to be done though. There's also a chance that this project can be scrapped as well. The future is very uncertain lol

Edit 21/01/2023: THIS WILL BE SCRAPPED TOO I'M SO SORRY I'M SO INDECISIVE I will never ever tease about my own projects ever again because it will always end up being scrapped one way or another HAHAHA
